Nebraska Wesleyan University’s award-winning University Choir has announced a tour schedule that will take it across the Midwest in January.

A Nebraska Wesleyan University choir director has been recognized by the Nebraska Choral Directors Association for his commitment to singers and choirs in the state.

Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Symphonic Band took a history lesson like no other they’ve taken.

"This will undoubtedly be an experience that our students will never forget," said NWU band director Sam Zitek.

On the 68th anniversary of D-Day, the band traveled to Normandy to commemorate the 1944 Allied Invasion and liberation of France.

When Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir Director William Wyman received a call this summer inquiring if his vocalists could perform with the Munich Symphony, he — without hesitation — said, yes!

“How do you say no to that kind of experience,” said Wyman. “It’s just not one you get everyday.”

The Nebraska Chapter of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) held their state voice auditions at Nebraska Wesleyan University on October 7.

Over 240 singers, from other Nebraska colleges and universities, competed including 36 Wesleyan NWU students.

The Emmy-nominated Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir will perform a concert of classic choral literature during its upcoming winter tour. 

The choir tour begins January 4 and will conclude with a final performance at O’Donnell Auditorium on the Nebraska Wesleyan University campus on January 16. The tour includes performances in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska.

Twenty Nebraska Wesleyan University students competed recently in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Competition.
