Nebraska Wesleyan University’s annual Bravo! Bosendorfer Piano Series will conclude in October with pianist Ned Kirk.
On Sunday, October 30, pianist Ned Kirk returns to Lincoln.
For the past 25 years, Kirk has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, including recitals in Germany, Singapore, China and the United States this year. He is the artistic and managing director of the Minnesota Beethoven Festival, an event that showcases regional talent and international artists including Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma, and Branford Marsalis. In addition to his involvement with the festival, Kirk is an associate professor of piano and chair of the music department at St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota. Kirk studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, the University of Massachusetts-Amhearst, and the University of Washington.
He has collaborated with numerous outstanding musicians, many of whom serve as conductors and principles in major orchestras around the world.
Kirk’s concert begins at 3 p.m. in O’Donnell Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door and cost $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for students.
The Bravo! Bosendorfer Piano Series features Nebraska Wesleyan’s 97-key Bosendorfer Imperial grand piano, the only one of its size in the state.
The series kicked off October 13 with pianist Tony Caramia, professor of piano at the Eastman School of Music.
