Lilly Frields was selected as a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship recipient to study abroad.

Frields will spend nearly a month in Rwanda completing research with the guidance of Amy Spears, associate professor of music. Their project seeks to better understand how Rwandan music teachers are integrating music into the healing process of individuals living with HIV.

Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance Samantha Wilson was named the 2022-23 Faculty Advisor of the Year. 

The award was established by the Academic Affairs Committee of the Student Affairs Senate to recognize and reward faculty for the pursuit of excellence in advising.

Karla Jensen, professor of communication, is this year's recipient of the university's top teaching award, the Margaret J. Prouty Faculty Teaching Award.

Meg Johnson (’84) joined Nebraska Wesleyan University as vice president of advancement on May 1.
