Toronto, Canada: Encounter World Religions Week with Dr. Jonathan Redding
Explore and learn about religious diversity in Toronto, Canada. Highlights include traveling to a Muslim Mosque to meet an Imam, attending a Hare Krishna worship gathering, visiting a Ganesh Hindu Temple and a Hindu Sabha Temple, learning about and meeting practicing Rastafarians, practicing Daoist Tai Chi, meeting a Jewish Rabbi and visiting a Jewish synagogue, touring Chinatown, visiting two Buddhist temples, having a Sikh meal and attending a Sikh worship service, and touring a Zoroastrian Temple.
Who: Any NWU students 19 and older, any major
Total Cost: $1,600 includes registration fee, roundtrip flights, housing, all entry fees and some meals. Plan on additional $200 to cover about 8 meals.
Earn NWU Credits: Students may choose to get up to 3 general elective credit hours for the trip by enrolling in the summer RELIG-2000/3000 level Selected Topics: Religious Diversity in Canada course, supervised by Dr. Redding. It is NOT required that students take the trip for course credit. The listed cost *does not* include summer tuition costs.
Deadlines: Applications and non-fundable $250 deposit due January 15, 2025 Balance due April 30, 2025
