Mail and Copy Center

The Mail and Copy Center sorts, process and distributes all the mail and packages for the entire campus. We also provide copy services for all campus departments.

Mail needs to be dropped off at the Mail Center no later than 1:30 p.m. to go out the same day.

Go to the online copy request form.

Campus Mail

Intra-campus Mail

Intra-campus mail may be used by facility/staff and students.

Intra-campus mail should be addressed in the following manner:

  1. Addressee's name
  2. Department/SMB number

All Intra-campus mail is sorted by department name. When reusing an interagency envelope, be sure to cross out the previous address on the envelope.

Mail for students must arrive in box order, from lowest to highest. Mail that is properly prepared will be boxed no later than the next day. All mailings over 50 pieces will be boxed on a time available system. This mail is considered low priority, but will be boxed within three days.

Metering of Outgoing Mail

Mail metering is for official university mail ONLY. The university does not provide postage for personal mail. The appropriate processing form ("Outgoing Mail-gold or "Special Outgoing Mail-blue) showing the account name, number and bar code must be attached to the mail piece or bundle. Mail will not be processed without this information. Your department support staff can provide the necessary forms. All outgoing mail requiring postage needs to be at the Mail Center no later than 1:30 p.m. to ensure same day processing. Large quantities of outgoing envelopes may be left unsealed. However, the flaps need to be down. Flats (anything larger than letter size) need to be sealed before bringing them to the Mail Center for processing. The Mail Center will answer all questions regarding the suitability of any mail piece.

Separation of Outgoing Mail

It is essential that all mail be separated by the originating department into the following categories and deposited in the appropriate slots for processing:

  • On campus mail-Include both the name and department/SMB number
  • Domestic mail (gold form)-used for all First Class Mail
  • International mail (blue form)
  • Pre-Stamped mail
Incoming Mail for Faculty and Staff

Mail arriving simply addressed to Nebraska Wesleyan will be routed to the Business Office. There it will be opened to determine the recipient and as a result will be delayed. Please encourage all correspondents to address mail in the manner shown above.

Business Reply Mail

The Mail and Copy Center distributes all Business Reply products. Please indicate on the mailing piece (fill in the ATTN: line which is located above Nebraska Wesleyan's address) the department the mail should be charged to. The Post Office charges a service fee in addition to the postage for each piece the university receives.

Bulk Mail Preparation
Permit

PLEASE CONTACT THE MAIL CENTER BEFORE STARTING ANY BULK MAILING FOR CURRENT RULES AND REGULATIONS.

  • Mailing must be a minimum of 200 pieces.
  • Mailing cannot be individualized.
  • Mailing cannot be offering anything for sale, such as tickets or fees.
  • Not to be used for time sensitive mailing, a maximum of 3 days is requested for processing at the Nebraska Wesleyan University, and the US Postal service allows itself from 2-9 days for delivery. In most cases the mailing is delivered in 2-4 days, but standard mail receives the lowest handling priority.

Postage can either be applied directly to the piece by the mail center or you can use an indicia/postage permit which should be located in the top right hand corner of your mail piece. The example is an indicia/postage permit.

A Bulk Mailing Form (PDF) must be completed and accompany the mailing when delivered to the mail center.
