Two Nebraska Wesleyan University seniors have each been awarded a scholarship from the Nebraska State Education Association's  (NSEA) Retired Board of Directors.

Melissa Sorensen of Orchard and Brittnie Kreikemeier of Dodge have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

Kyle Rohrich and Alex Cowsky spent the first two weeks of the spring semester in five Spanish cities where they researched public opinion on the Basque conflict.

“I can read plenty of academic journals about what people went through, but it’s so different when you can actually go and hear people talk about it themselves,” said Rohrich.

A Nebraska Wesleyan University English professor has been awarded a Fulbright Specialists Grant to teach in India next fall.

Gerise Herndon, Professor of English, Director of the Gender Studies Program, and the University’s Fulbright Program Advisor, will spend six weeks at Banaras Hindu University where she will teach feminist theories, multiculturalism and identity politics.
