Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Admissions Counselor to join our Enrollment Management team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, making informed decisions that effectively communicate the exceptional value of a Nebraska Wesleyan education. The Admission Counselor will primarily report to the Associate Director of First Year Admissions.

This position is a full-time, exempt position, which requires some evening and weekend work. Responsibilities
  • Territory Management: Strategically manage an assigned recruitment territory to meet and exceed enrollment targets.
  • Prospective Student Engagement: Assess the skills and interests of prospective students, guiding them through the enrollment process with personalized support. Provide introductory information to transfer students on how their credits will transfer to NWU.
  • Effective Communication: Articulate the unique benefits of the Nebraska Wesleyan experience during campus visits and through various communication channels, including phone and written correspondence.
  • Project Management: Balance high-level strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail in managing projects and university initiatives.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Monitor student satisfaction and anticipate future needs while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborative Goal Achievement: Work both independently and collaboratively within a team to set and achieve ambitious enrollment goals.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, sales, or customer service-oriented roles.
  • The ability to build and nurture relationships with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and community leaders.
  • Strong goal setting and achievement capabilities related to admissions and enrollment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when evaluating admission candidates.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, complemented by strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality and handling sensitive information responsibly.
  • Strong sense of humor and humility.
