NEW Housing Selection Process
February 19 – 28
Returner’s Rights Sign Up
Returner’s Rights are offered to residents who currently reside in Townhouses and Apartments and wish to live in the same room/unit next year. To claim Returner’s Rights, all current roommates must be returning to the same unit or apartment for Fall 2025, except in cases where a roommate is graduating, studying away, or student teaching. If a roommate is not returning for a reason other than these approved exceptions, the remaining members must find new roommate(s) to fill the unit for the fall.
Please note that all Townhouse and Apartment residents must be juniors or seniors. Sign up for Returner’s Rights by completing the link above by February 28. Late requests will not be accepted.
March 3 - 19
Phase 1: Apply to Participate in the Housing Lottery
We are excited to offer an updated housing selection process! Residential Education now partners with eRezLife to offer a web-based platform that gives students more ownership over their housing selection process.
Students will receive an email from Student Life on Monday, March 3rd with the link to the Housing Lottery Application. Once a student completes their application, they can begin making roommate groups with others who have also completed the application.
Students who sign up by Wednesday, March 19th will have access to the Housing Lottery process starting Monday, March 24th. Late applications will be accepted.
March 21
Deadline for Residency Exemptions & Housing Accommodations
All students seeking an exemption to the NWU residency policy must receive approval from Residential Education. Requests will be accepted beginning March 3rd and must be submitted by 5pm on March 21st to be reviewed prior to March 31st. Details on how to apply for an exemption will be included in the March 3rd email from Student Life. Students requesting a medical accommodation for housing should contact the Director of Student Accessibility Services at mcruce [at] nebrwesleyan.edu (mcruce[at]nebrwesleyan[dot]edu).

Phase 2: Housing Lottery
Students with a completed Housing Lottery application will receive a notification by Friday, March 21st of their assigned lottery date and time. The Housing Lottery will begin on Monday, March 24th and will conclude on Friday, March 28th.
- Greek Housing
All Greek chapters determine who will live in the chapter house for the upcoming academic year. Lists are provided to the Residential Education Office. Any student on a Greek chapter housing roster is not allowed to sign up for housing in residential facilities. Please check with your chapter regarding specific policies. Please note that not all Greek chapter houses support break housing for their residents. Residential Education does not provide temporary housing to students over breaks during the academic year. We encourage you to visit with your chapter about your break housing options.
- Grade Classification
For housing purposes, class standing is measured by the number of completed semesters during college, not credits. Students that have 1-2 semesters completed are considered “sophomores”, students with 3-4 semesters completed are considered “juniors” and “seniors” are those students that have completed at least 5-6 semesters.
