Prevention is the best guard against many viruses, which is why we highly encourage you to get a flu shot.
Most health insurance companies cover the cost of a flu shot. The vaccine is available at local pharmacies — including the Walgreens near campus at 48th & Huntington — as well as your own doctor’s offices. Be sure to bring along your health insurance card. If you are unsure about your health care coverage, please check with your parents or ask a pharmacist if your health insurance provider covers the cost of a flu shot. A limited number of flu shots are available at Student Health Services for those who do not have health insurance. The cost is $15.
And when you’re sick — whether it be the flu, strep throat, bronchitis or other ailments — please be sure to utilize Student Health Services, located on the first floor of Pioneer Hall. Doctors and nurses are available Monday through Friday.
