The Progressive Student Coalition will host an immigration forum February 21-22.
The forum begins Monday, February 21 at 7 p.m. with a joint presentation by law school professor Kevin Ruser and Elisha Novak of Omaha Catholic Charities. They will give a general overview of the immigration system.
On Tuesday, February 22 at 1 p.m., Bill Mefford, director of civil and human rights at the General Board of Church & Society, will discuss immigration from a faith perspective.
The forum will conclude at 7 p.m. with a presentation by Mike Nolan of League Association of Risk Management. He will discuss the new immigration laws in Fremont as well as possible state legislation.
All discussions will be held in Olin B Lecture Hall, located one block east of 50th Street and St. Paul Ave. The forum is free and open to the public.
