Dr. Fred Ohles, President of Nebraska Wesleyan University, awarded degrees to approximately 575 undergraduate and graduate students during Nebraska Wesleyan University’s 125th annual commencement held Saturday, May 17.

Ambassador Cameron Munter delivered the commencement address. Munter is a distinguished public servant often called upon to lead the United States diplomacy in the most complex and difficult international situations including Pakistan, Serbia, Kosovo, Iraq, Poland and the Czech Republic. Munter was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

Honorary degrees were also presented to banking executive Alice Dittman, Honorary Doctor of Laws; New Testament scholar Robert Jewett, Honorary Doctor of Sacred Theology; and banking executive Blaine Rieke, Honorary Doctor of Laws.

Gold key awards for students who maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout their college careers were awarded to Amanda Minert of Kearney and Carol Ready of Scribner. Silver key awards for students who maintained a 3.99 grade point average throughout their college careers were awarded to April Bacon of Blair, Timothy Brawner of Omaha, Madison Cameron of Burr, Jacob Fleecs of Sutherland and Hannah Gallentine of Lincoln.
