Nebraska Wesleyan Announces Homecoming Royalty

Nebraska Wesleyan University crowned Jessica States of North Platte and Malcolm Wade of Lincoln as its 2009 homecoming queen and king.

The college seniors were recognized during ceremonies held at the university’s annual homecoming weekend, October 29-November 1.

States is the daughter of Doug and Kayla States. A business administration and communication major, States serves as president of the senior class council, is the business manager for the university newspaper and a student host in the admissions office. She is active in Delta Zeta Sorority, serving as its president in 2008 and FBLA-Phi Beta Lambda Business Association, serving as its president from 2008-2009.

Wade is the son of Otha and Rose Wade. He is also a business administration and communication major. Wade is a supervisor at F Street Community Center and an assistant manager at Holmes Park Golf Course. He serves as a mentor for the Unlocking the Potential for Success program, a basketball coach at Dawes Middle School and the YMCA and is a leadership coordinator for Nebraska Wesleyan’s Center for Student Involvement.

Other members of the homecoming court are:

Arapahoe — Hollie Thomas, daughter of Alan Thomas and Suzanne Morgan. She is an industrial/organizational psychology major.

Aurora — Derek Werner, son of Scott and Lisa Werner. He is an economics major.

Hastings — CJ Koozer, daughter of Robin and Ann Koozer. She is a biology major.

Lincoln — Alyssa Fiala, daughter of Cindy and Jerry Fiala. She is a business administration and theatre arts major. Cliff Trehearn, son of Pamela and Ed Trehearn. He is an accounting major.

Rising City — Christopher Sander, son of Michael and Amy Sander. He is a mathematics and secondary education major.
