The artistic talents of Nebraska Wesleyan University students are now on display in Elder Gallery.
The 2013 Juried Student Exhibition runs December 6-16. An opening reception and award ceremony will be held Friday, December 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Watie White, painter and printmaker from Omaha, is the guest artist juror. After earning his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MFA from American University, White’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, appearing in the Schopf Gallery in Chicago, 5+5 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and the DokHouse Gallery in Amsterdam. His work has been featured in several publications including New American Paintings, Almagre, OYEZ Review, Omaha Magazine, and the Omaha World-Herald. White is the 2002 recipient of the Stanley G. Wolpoff Award from American University and a 2013 Nebraska Arts Council Merit Award winner.
Elder Gallery is located in the Rogers Center for Fine Arts, located at 50th Street and Huntington Ave. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
