SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE: NWU Fortinet firewall update

CSIT has scheduled a maintenance window to update the campus’ Fortinet firewall.  The maintenance will begin at 5:00pm on Friday (8/12) and is expected to require approximately 10 – 15 minutes to complete.  During this time, there will be an interruption of network traffic between the NWU campus and the Internet.

The firewall is a network appliance which manages network traffic between the campus network and the Internet and, among other functions, controls which inbound traffic is allowed, monitors security and provides secure access to protected institutional resources from off-campus networks.  We will be using this maintenance window to update the firmware on the device.
