Kelly has been the Assistant Director of Counseling Services at Nebraska Wesleyan University since 2021. Prior to this position, she was a clinical therapist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for 7 years. She also worked at Heartland Family Service and Boys Town for many years. She became a licensed mental health therapist (LMHP) in 2007 and an independent licensed mental health therapist (LIMHP) in 2021. Kelly's clinical interests include relationship concerns, anxiety disorders, depression, and suicide prevention. Kelly incorporates cognitive behavioral strategies, strength based, solution focused, mindfulness and person-centered approaches in working with students. In her clinical work she strives to help students feel validated, find connections, be empowered and learn positive coping skills to deal with life challenges. In her free time, Kelly enjoys watching her daughters play softball and swim, spending time with her husband, reading, kickboxing and yoga.
