Nebraska Wesleyan University will open its 2016-2017 theatre season with two of the greatest love stories on the same set.
West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet share young lovers caught between warring sides. Modern music and Shakespearean tragedy throw sparks with each performance.
West Side Story opens Thursday, August 11 and runs August 11-14 and August 18-21. Romeo and Juliet follows September 15-18 and September 22-25.
This year's mainstage productions also include The Rocky Horror Show, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Into The Woods, and A Christmas Carol.
The theatre box office opens Monday, August 1 and will be open daily (Monday through Saturday) from 2 to 5 p.m. The box office is located in Elder Theatre Center, 51st Street and Huntington Ave. The box office can be reached at 402.465.2384.
Single tickets to musical productions are $17.50 for adults, $10 for seniors and students (K-college). Single tickets to non-musical productions are $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and students. Special ticket packages are also available.

- Electra — March 30-April 2, 6-9
- Into the Woods — April 20-23, 27-30
Cabaret shows — featuring a different cast and theme each show — will be held throughout the year. The cabaret schedule includes:

- December 8-10, 7:30 p.m.
- December 11, 2 p.m.
- March 23-25, 7:30 p.m.
- March 26, 2 p.m.
- April 27-29, 7:30 p.m.

All cabarets are held in the Studio Theatre, located at 2710 North 48th Street.
