Fred Ohles, President of Nebraska Wesleyan University, awarded degrees to approximately 565 undergraduate and graduate students during Nebraska Wesleyan University’s 126th annual commencement held Saturday, May 16.

Ron Hull, a long-time public television veteran, delivered the commencement address. Hull began his career in public television broadcasting in 1955. He serves in retirement as senior advisor to Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) and is a professor emeritus of broadcasting at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Hull was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

Honorary degrees were also presented to Deborah A. Frison, principal, Omaha Burke High School, Honorary Doctor of Pedagogy; and Larry L. Ruth, of counsel, Mueller Robak, LLC, Honorary Doctor of Laws.

Gold key awards for students who maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout their college careers were awarded to Jacob Weber of Milford, Addie Voss of Grand Island, Brittni Eitzmann of Lincoln, Keenan Hawekotte of Omaha and Hayden Schuerman of Wilber. Silver key awards for students who maintained a 3.99 grade point average throughout their college careers were awarded to Jacob Shaffer of Aurora, Brock Taute of Bertrand, Frankie Smith of Elkhorn and Kayla Rankin of Spalding.

Other honor graduates are designated below with highest distinction (3.93 or higher GPA), high distinction (3.86-3.92 GPA), and distinction (3.80-3.85 GPA).
