– and it’s a good thing. Second year Master of Forensic Science students finished their year-long crime scene practicum June 12. The students went to the Lancaster County Courthouse where attorneys Amy Jacobsen and Sandi Denton examined, and in some cases cross-examined, each student on their role and at their scene and their conclusions in processing evidence. The students investigated the scenes last October and were mentored in processing the evidence and through the investigation by assistant instructors (“The Faux Felons”) and Instructors Kevin Willis (Detective, Washington County Sheriff’s Office) and Brian Paulsen (Chief of Police, Yankton South Dakota). Their day in court over, the relieved students paused for a picture before celebrating.
