Nebraska Wesleyan University track and field athlete Bella Houge has earned NCAA DIII first-team Academic All-American honors from the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.
Hogue has won back-to-back Academic All-American honors, the latest of which extends NWU’s All-American streak to 40 consecutive years. NWU is ranked 12th among all schools in the country regardless of division for Academic All-Americans and fifth among all NCAA Division III schools.
Houge (’24) of Murray, Neb. earned a 4.0 GPA and graduated in May with a communication studies degree. In her final season, she won the American Rivers Conference championship in the indoor 400m and outdoor 200m events and earned two NCAA DIII All-American awards. As a sophomore, she won three national championships in sprinting events.
Hogue's latest accolade brings the total number of CSC Academic All-American awards for NWU’s women's track and field/cross country programs to 26.
