Nebraska Wesleyan University’s next theatre production will tell the ancient Greek myth Iphigenia.
Iphigenia illuminates the terrifying certainty that, in times of war, unspeakable actions commonly prompt unpredictable consequences. Will young Iphigenia be sacrificed to appease the gods so that her father’s army can sail to war against Troy, or is there a chance she can be saved? This ancient Greek story has been reshaped for contemporary audiences. Chloe Petit of Houston, Texas, will play the lead role of Iphigenia.
Performances are scheduled for September 23-25, September 30-October 2 at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. shows on September 26 and October 3. All performances will be held in The Studio Theatre, located at 2710 N. 48th, two blocks west of the Nebraska Wesleyan campus. Free parking is available behind the building.
Admission is $10 for adults, $7.50 for senior citizens and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased by calling the theatre box office at 402.465.2384.
