Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Elder Gallery opens with an exhibit spanning 34 years of photography by long-time retired art professor Susan Horn.
The exhibit, Susan Horn: Past & Present, A Retrospective Exhibition, opens Friday, September 5 and continues through Sunday, October 12. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Elder Gallery.
Over the last 34 years, Horn has examined family, friends and places in her home state of Nebraska. The show spans this time and sequence through various photographic processes, moving from silver prints to hand-colored prints to archival digital panoramas.
Horn retired from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2012 after 28 years of overseeing the photography studio and darkroom and the digital media laboratory. She taught photography, design and digital media courses.
Horn will also discuss her exhibit on Friday, October 10 at Nebraska Wesleyan University’s homecoming alumni academy. Her talk will be held at 3 p.m. in Elder Gallery.
Elder Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
Elder Gallery is located inside the Rogers Center for Fine Arts, 50th Street and Huntington Ave.
