There are 1.4 billion people in the world living in extreme poverty. That's 1.4 billion people living on less than $1.25 a day.

Global Service Learning invites you to join in the movement to end extreme poverty through a week of events.

Monday, April 16

Watch the Global Poverty Project's trailer in the dining hall during the lunch hour.

Tuesday, April 17

Participate in the challenge to use only $1.25 to provide for your food and drink for an entire day. Experience a small component of the life of someone in extreme poverty. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to share your experiences on Facebook and Twitter.

Thursday, April 19

Hear a speaker from the Global Poverty Project. The speaker will address the five sectors of the Global Poverty Project, including: What is extreme poverty? Can we do anything about it? What are the barriers to ending extreme poverty? Why should we care? What can we do? Attendees are asked to bring a canned food donation.

Friday, April 20

Serve with us at Community Crops! Global Service Learning will be readying gardens used for growing healthy food and promoting sustainable living.
