Norma Ramos, a public interest attorney, eco-feminist, and executive director of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, will discuss modern day human trafficking at an upcoming Nebraska Wesleyan University lecture.
Ramos’ lecture, “Bought and Sold: Modern Day Human Trafficking,” will be held on Thursday, October 20 at 1 p.m. in Olin B Lecture Hall.
Ramos helped establish the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, the first non-governmental organization to combat sexual exploitation around the globe. Ramos has worked with Women Against Pornography and a subcommittee on pornography for the National Organization for Women.
In 2009, Ramos won the Humanist Heroine Award from the American Humanist Association, and most recently fought to remove adult services from Craigslist and won.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
